Seafield

As part of ongoing improvements to their public facilities Golf South Ayrshire engaged Kimber &Glen to design and build a new lake and flood drainage system on the Seafield course at Belleisle Park.

The main aims of the project were:

• Creation of a new wetland feature between holes 14, 15 & 16
• Enhance biodiversity through the creation of new habitat opportunities
• Add visual interest to a flat area of the site
• Provide the opportunity for improved golf course drainage in a low lying flat areas of the site and reduce the impact of flooding events on the turf grass areas.

Having been initially engaged to design the system Kimber & Glen subsequently won the tender to complete the build base of the project as lead contractors.

Work was completed during a very wet Autumn in 2023 and has been growing in and maturing well.
