Belleisle

Working with South Ayrshire Council, (Golf South Ayrshire,) the Kimber & Glen team were appointed to create a new lake feature between the 2nd and 3rd holes of the Belleisle course.  This area has been very wet and virtually unmanagebale for number of years as it is one of the lowest points on the site with a large watershed catchment area and peaty materials in the sub-profile.

Kimber & Glen were tasked with designing a new lake feature that would not only enhance the aesthetics and playing strategy of both holes but would enhance the course’s biodiversity credentials and also improve the drainage and maintenance of the whole area by providing an outlet for excess drainage water.

We were subsequently successful in winning the bid to install the lake including all the related infrastructure requirements. The lake was built in the (very wet,) summer of 2023 and is now settling in well into its surroundings.
